Power units

Hopefully this hasn't already been discussed (yes, I did search), but what units are the F1's power quoted in? The Rosso magazine scan in the Japanese recap thread lists power as 627ps, but Motor magazine here in Australia list the power as 468kW (which converts to 636ps).

The guys on Wikipedia have been debating it for a while, & they seem to have come to the conclusion that the F1 has 627ps:

Any clarification?

If you are asking about their use of "PS" instead of HP then take a look here:

Re: Power units

The F1's engine puts out 627 horsepower at the crank, known as "brake horsepower."

Often shown as: "627 BHP"

627 BHP is the official number. If you see it in any other units it's been converted. There is an image of a dynamometer test on the engine to prove the 627 BHP.

Re: Re: Power units

amanichen, thanks for clarifying that. I always thought it was 627bhp, but reading their discussion threw me slightly.
