ATTS and VTEC -- something wrong with my Type SH
Anyone know what's wrong with my car (I honestly know very little about cars)?
I was accelerating onto the freeway yesterday, and at about 5300 rpms, instead of the VTEC kicking in and getting a slight boost in power, I lost power and the ATTS light came on. Ever since then, whenver I get to 5300 rpms, I hear the timing change, but there is no power boost. I'm sure VTEC and ATTS don't have anything to do with each other, yet these two things occured simultaneously. Thanks, Erin btw...it is a 2000 Prelude SH with about 82k miles...all stock |

Whenever VTEC stops working on my car the first thing I check is the oil level.

Re: ATTS and VTEC -- something wrong with my Type SH
No Check Engine Light. And the VTEC seems to be working intermittently. Although, it's about time for an oil change so it's very possibly low on oil. I'm very bad about checking that. Why does low oil affect the VTEC?
