msd ignition questions

I was looking on summit for some new msd spark plug wires, dist. cap and coil but they didnt show a cap for an external coil for the si are any other dist.caps for other motors that are the same or will interchange since I am going with an external coil. Also what exactly will an msd 6a do for my car and is it worth the money now or should i wait until i do more serious mods like a cam and injectors

Re: msd ignition questions

as far as i know, all obd0 caps work. dont get a 6a, not worth it doesnt help much.

you could get the 6al but thats pretty much only if your going with a 2 step

Re: msd ignition questions

i put that same setup on my ZC and it made alittle difference, about 3-5hp more with stock cams and injectors, but now im setup for more mods when i can do them in the future.

Re: msd ignition questions

with the msd boxes, i hear stories of people running high hp and the msd box messing up their ignition causing it to miss and things like that. and as soon as they took off the box it was all cherry.

just get the msd coil, its all youll ever need
