So i unplug my TPS sensor, and go start my car...car runs great, i rev it up alittle...revs fine...so im like ok i'll take it for a short spin around the block...i start out...cars driving great...like theres no problem...so halfway i pull over and plug the sensor back in...car runs like dog shit...im like WTF!...so aparently it is my TPS thats taking a shit on me...and it pisses me off $95 sensor that just makes my car run like shit...so i made my own name for TPS...(which now stands for) Typical Piece of Shit. anywho...now that i found out my problem...what exactly does this POS sensor do? errrr...i just want to leave it unplugged so i can drive my car...btw does the KA TPS and SR TPS swap over?

Re: I hate TPS sensors!!!!!
You definatly need the TPS hooked up. It prolly just needs to be adjusted. If you have a SAFC, you can just use the check sensor function. If not, use a multi-meter. Its really easy.

Re: I hate TPS sensors!!!!!
it is just an adjustable resistor.

so we'll say hypothetically that my TPS is "out of adjustment" would it cut out mid pedal? because thats my main problem...

Re: I hate TPS sensors!!!!!
Id just spend the 100 and get a new one. I wouldnt want a cracked piston just because the TPS adds fuel in some conditions (which it may infact do).
its probably just what the ECU uses to judge open/closed loop operation |

Re: I hate TPS sensors!!!!!
make sure you set the tps correct whenever re-setting the voltage on it. set it to .50, unplug it, start the car, and while the car is running plug it back in. if you don't do that EXACTLY it will run like shit. basically that tells the ecu where the tps is "closed" or "open".
