Question Can I supercharge a D16A6

I wanted to ask all you NOS and supercharge experts a question.

I have 4th Gen Civic HB with a D16A6 engine
And I talked to a guy today that told me that I could put in a supercharger
in my car, but I said that it wasnt a VTEC engine I have
He said that it made no difference that I still could put on in.
Is this true, and if so what should I do more to my car so it can handle the xtra power???

Yes you can put a supercharger on your car. or you could put a turbo on your car. i've raced a guy with a civic like yours with a jackson on it. It was before i got my turbo, needless to say he smoked me.

you definitely need to upgrade the fuel stuff to ensure you don't run lean. the other upgrades depend on how much boost you want to run. if you plan to run 8 lbs. or less, you're pretty much safe. if you want to run more, you should forge the bottom end(pistons and rods) and maybe even a block guard.

if you want to go turbo, look into GREDDY if you want your car to be street legal. i've heard good things about DRAG but they are not street legal.

You know you can also plug a VTEC head onto your D16 motor. You should do that and then slap on the Supercharger.

OK, you guys sparked my interest. I have a 98 DX... What exactly does strapping a B16 series head on do for me... other than make it a VTEC? I'm new and have NO CLUE!

Well you can't put a B16 Head on your D16 block. Infact you can't put on any B Series parts on your car. You will have to put the D16z6 head which is VTEC you will notice a lot strong power band. You will be able to rev higher. and you should gain quite a bit more horses.

u can go for a jrsc and run the stock 6 psi and u wont have to do any mods except for ur fuel management system. if u go turbo then u dont have to worry about getting a header. if u go sc then the manifold will not be replaced. on a jrsc at stock psi it says it gives about 40 % more boost. dont know about greddy turbo. but if u get a turbo u must must must have a bov or its just pointless.
