I'm looking at maybe the same thing with my '93 1.8 Talon. I bought a $400 car, without driving it. Did the rear main seal replacement to get it road-worthy again, and the tranny doesn't do anything. Level stays the same, off or running. Getting ready to go get a J/Y tranny too, and want to make sure it isn't something with the car instead before I spend the time/money. I unplugged every electrical connector except for the main one to see if it was an electrical issue, and no change.
