Lost (The new season)

Anybody watch the new episode which kicked off the new season? Were you surprised at what was in the hatch? Who do you think will survive from the raft after the incident at sea?

Its funny I was about to post a thread about Lost also.

Well, before last nights episode, I have come to the conclusion that those folks are stranded on a government/military desease/bio-medical enhancement research facility that is no longer in operation. That would explain why there are no flyovers or landings and could possibly explain the quarantine hatch and along with last nights showing of the secret underground facility. As for the guy from the flashback in the stadium with the guy showing up in the undergound bunker, that has me for a loop. But it could be a twin or a clone.

Edit: one thing that does not make sense was the huge flash of light coming from the hole. When the doc finally went down, there was nothing at the bottom that would have produced such a flash of light.

hmmm TS i didnt know you watched the show, its very good. after the most recent episodes i have the feeling that some may be rescued and some may just stay to live on the island and press the damned button. i wish that in an upcoming episode they miss pusing the button once just to see if the austrailian guy was telling the truth or if i really was just a "leap of faith"..... i cant wait till this weds. episode, i still gotta buy the first season

yeah I do, but its a bit like the X Files but on steroids. Cause there are so many sub plots that I hardly can keep up.

It can be confusing at times, especially with so much "back stories" into the past of the characters. Sometimes there is so much backpedaling in an episode, nothing much happens in "real time" because they have spent so much time dwelling on the past, but a lot of this looking back is essential to what is occuring now by setting the stage and informing the viewer.

it confuses the hell outa me, we're on the episode when the bald guy, who magically started walking (i think he's the best character), knocked out some other guy with the knife handle, tied him up an put some wierd mixture in his wounds, then they guy wakes up, gets the knife when he hears his sister/step-sister screaming, he unties her an blah blah blah when runngin something grabs her. she gets killed an dies in his arms. then somehow she's alive agian. WTF ?

it just confuses me.

I remember that episode. It was near the end of the first season. What you were describing was Boone's "dream scene" where he imagined Shannon dies. These scenes coupled with the back pedaling stories can really confuse you if your not following along intently, or you miss a small part and can't understand the rest of what is going on after that.
