aluminum or cast intakes

hey i was looking over ther rules for our local track and it says that you must have a factory cast iron intake manifold well i have a factory aluminum intake so i called the TECH guy out at our local track and he said that you must have a cast iron intake well i have not been able to find a cast iron intake i have tried many many junk yards and i cant find one do any of you guys know if the 84 OLDS 305 came with a cast intake or where i can get one or if they didnt come with one where i can get proof so i can show the TECH guy that so i dont get disqualified for running it cause we are responsible for what we run thanks alot

no they mean intakes the only race cars that run aluminum heads are latemodels and we dont run those at our track the rules state you must have factory cast iron intake and cast iron exhaust manifolds

Re: aluminum or cast intakes

So if the engine came factory with aluminum it's illegal? 84 Olds was a Olds 307, is this what you have?

Re: aluminum or cast intakes

When did they start using aluminum intakes? I thought it was a real long time ago.
