S10 - Sonoma Window Electrical Problem

I have a Sonoma 4.3 truck, 1991 model. I replaced the electric window motor on the driver side. When I reinstalled it it will go down but not up.

I took it back out and when it is not grounded to the door it will work in both directions. When it is grounded to the door it will work only in the down direction.

I installed a new switch to no avail. I switched the wires on the plug in and that changed the direction of the switch but the motor still only goes in the down direction.

Again, motor works fine when it is not touching the door but when you ground it to the door it works only in the down direction.

Can anyone help?

sounds like something might be touching (like a wire) inside the new motor, id say take the new motor back to where you got it and tell them its defective , or you could just try to insulate the parts where the motor touches the dorr with pieces or foam or rubber , if they wont take it back. also , look at the wires going to the motor , check them back as far as you can see to make sure they arent sheared and touching something
