New Aston Zagato

I just read in CAR (UK magazine) that Aston Martin are going to build a new Zagato. It is to have a modified DB7 chassis with stiffened suspension, with a 440bhp V12 and manual gearbox. It is 100mm shorter wheelbase and 100mm shorter rear overhang than the DB7. The body will be hand beaten aluminium made by Zagato coachbuilders in Italy and brought over to the UK to be assembled. The Aston boss Ulrich Bez says between 50 and 100 will be made at about £140,00 each. It should be released at the British motor show

It should be out about now. It has 21 seats (in the regular DB7, the rear 2 seats only have 15 cubic feet of space, or the size of a fridge), and no trunk. Its wheelbase in 4 inches shorter, has 6 fewer inches of rear overhang (a nice, unflabby but is always a good thing ), and a wider track. I think it is what the DB7 should have been in the first place, just with a trunk.
