Help with Honda RA272 front wheel alignment
Has anyone on this board built the Tamiya Honda RA272? I’m having a real problem with the front wheel positions. I’ve attached all four wheels to my model, and it’s now sitting level, but the front wheels are not aligned correctly.
If I remove the steering rod, I can get the wheels both in line. Attaching the rod, pulls the right front wheel in a little, and you can see this. To be honest, I get this all the time with Tamiya kits, but this is open wheel and it can be seen easily. The model wasn’t even sitting level, as one front wheel the left one was floating in the air, but I changed the rear wheel camber a little and tweaked the brake disc on the rear left, and now the model sits with all four on the ground, but that front wheel is bugging me. Any help, or do I have to leave it as it is? I will be truthful, not all that happy with the wheel positions of this model, either I’ve built it badly, or this by design. Can’t find that many builds of this model to look at. |

Hi Mick,
Have you tried heating the steering rod to stretch it slightly? |

Problem is, the one wheel in the air has now returned, but only a VERY slight gap, hardly noticable... |
