Cd player Installation for a 70 vw bug

When i install a cd player into my vw bug will i have to modify the bay of the original radio? I've compared and it doesnt seem to fit right but i have previously installed a cd player which it went out due to a problem of connection between the cd player and the wiper motor any suggestions? if you would like more info just hit me back ill let u know more thanks......also another small question do bugs usually hesitate if floored? is that a sign of valve adjustments?

You should be able to trim your dash and have it fit no prob. What kind and size player is it? And for your other ? go to www.shoptalkforums.com and ask there its a better site for vintage vee dubs. I think it would be your carb settings, but valves would do it too. Among other things.

its just a normal cd player i trimmed it out with a dremel it fits and all but my last cd player i had in it went out due to contact with the wiper motor and it stopped working im not sure what the deal was. but with the other question ill check out that other site thanks for the help man. I just got this bug like 7 months ago im working on kind of restoring it a little. any suggestions on new seats like what will fit comfotably in there i want like a sports style seat. Something where i wont lean like 6 inches down on one side when cornering i know its not a race car but it should have a more comfotable fit more stable fitting these seats just arent doin it thanks again
