Question Feedback on sohc zc

Well got a great deal on a sohc zc for my crx... its actually stamped zc on the block as well. I've read a lot of conflicting information about this motor though. Does anyone have any experience with this particular motor, and how do yo feel about its performance?

Re: Feedback on sohc zc

i feel that they are trash. lol. they are basically the same as an a6, but with higher compression, and maybe a different cam, which is why they make about 10hp more.

IF it is really a great deal then go ahead and get it...my friend had a sohc zc in his hb and it could take 4th gen ludes(non vtec)...not saying theyre all that fast but i say that theyre good for a sohc...

Re: Feedback on sohc zc

i've had my sohc zc in my car since feb. and i think its pretty quick. 15.4 @ 89mph. I've just got a header,2.5" exhaust, short ram intake, centerforce clutch, and an ebay chip. also running it with my dx tranny. I beat the hell out my engine and I hit 8000rpm every time im in the car and i dont blow any smoke at all. Anyway im very happy with it.

Re: Feedback on sohc zc

I just got a SOHC ZC and i can now beat some of my buddies cars that I could not beat with my DOHC zc. I dont know how that works out but it definately pulls harder than my DOHC.
