You know how smart my dog is?

Whenever someone comes home through the garage, my dog will bark until he realizes it's someone he knows. Now, my garage has two doors, a regular wood one and a screendoor. When someone comes home, and my dog is asleep in my parents room, they open the screendoor first, then the regular door. My dog is so smart, he knows that when the regular door is opened first and the screendoor is second, that someone is leaving instead of coming home, so he doesn't bark, ever.

What kind of funny, quirky, or smart things your guys' pets do?

these stories are my favourite part of Marmaduke.

I had a 16 year old bichon frise, who had gone completely blind and deaf. But she could still follow me, without a leash, when I took walks through my parents 30 acre forest... (she did walk into a lot of trees though). But she also knew where to find my parent's raspberry patch, and would frequently visit by herself... well, until she managed to train our other dog to do the same.

My dog ate the cat shit until my sister moved out and took the cat with her. My dog also has the ability to warn me of a leaf falling to the ground two miles away by barking his ass off.

When my dog hears the garage door open he runs over to greet me at the laundry room door. Also he tells me when he's got to go do number 1 or 2. And he doesn't eat his shit either. Periodically he'll sniff his rear end or lick his pecker.

Re: You know how smart my dog is?

Alright I have 3 dogs. Two full-size dachshunds and a little rat thingy that is 1/2 chiwaua(sp?) and 1/2 french poodle. The dachshunds know the sounds of our cars, if anyone at my house pulls into the driveway they are silent(unless it's like the middle of the day and they get all excited). But, if any other car pulls into the driveway they flip out untill someone they "know" comes to see what the deal is. My rat-dog will start barking like 10seconds before the phone rings too(really fucking weird if you ask me). I guess you could say this is weird too, my dachshunds are fucking visious(sp?) killers. They have never even growled or hinted anger at a person but if another animal comes anywhere near them they flip out and WILL kill it. I have wilds rabbits and birds and crap in my yard and these things get animals all the time. I can't have my other dog or cat anywhere near them because they've gotten them before and just try to eat them. I also have a black cat(1/2 siameese 1/2 random alley cat) that is 13 years old and still chases her tail, will jump over a 4 1/2 foot fence in my yard and clear it with a foot of air. God I have strange pets. Peace-

Re: You know how smart my dog is?

my dogs (I have 3) don't let anyone touch me...even my brothers, they get very upset, espcially baby. They bark and growl until I make them stop...It gets kind of annoying after a while.
