abs related(?) electrical problem?

got a 98 lumina ltz.stuck in traffic one day when i noticed achange in the sound of the engine. looked down and saw the "anti-lock" and "volts" lights were on. immediately discerned that the car was running on battery power only -shut off all accessories etc. barely made it homeas car died-no more juice in battery. later replaced alternator, belt and battery, car seemed fine for awhile but was driving it later and noticed the anti lock light was on again. after a few more miles the volts light came on and the process repeated itself . im a shade tree kinda guy with no sophisticated equipment and was hoping someone had an idea what to look for. i was thinking a relay(?) was shorting or stuck open, maybe even a fuse. any diagnostic help would be greatly appreciated.
