1990 Lumina Euro Stalls/spits/coughs/won't start/run when hot

Hi all, new to forum but found this board in a search and there is some great stuff here but can't find anything on this specific issue. Got a problem with 90 euro 3.1, it starts great and runs well from cold but when heated up and then stopped and shut down for a time, not long 30 sec-5min-30min lets say, it won't start or starts and runs like it is ready for the wrecker...Now the car runs fine once it recovers from this, i call it gagging, it's like it is getting no fuel or too much, yet the car runs fine down the road/highway for many miles, gas mileage is excellent. If i let it sit for say an hour after a run, it will start/drive great also. I had a new egr installed and cleaned the throttle body and iac. "Some" improvement in symptoms after but not a total success, still acting up. I am suspecting fuel pump but am leary of doing it due to the cost, just trying to get this car healthy for winter. Thinking plugs/wires also but believe there is more than that gong on. Car is well taken care of otherwise and is in good shape. Any ideas from previous/current owners or anyone else would be appreciated...

Thanks, Al

if it wont run when hot it could be the ICM (ignition control module) but since there are so many other things too.

Try changing the Fuel filter, and look into the 02 sensor and stuff of that sort. make sure they are working properly..

does your car give you a code? any SES light.

try to find someone with a Tech1 scanner and have them check it out and make sure all the things look right.
