Question for best ride!!

I am going on a 500 mile trip this weekend and I wanted to know what is the best gas treatment I could use during the ride. I have noticed that when the truck is ideling or when it is in gear, pretty much when it is warmed up it had a miss in it. I was thinking that i could use some gas treatment to fix this problem seeing how Ill be going through a full tank. I have a 4.8 1999 silverado 1500. I also need a new catalytic converter so I guess also a question would be, would a cat. converter cause a miss in the truck if it needs to be replaced? Thanks for any help.

Re: for best ride!!

A misfire can cause a bad converter. If all your plugs AND plug wires are in tip top shape then a fuel additive might help. I doubt your injectors would be the sorce of the problem on a 99
