engine

I have a 94 si 2.3 'Lude. h23a1 stamped on it. Does my engine supposed to have DOHC anwhere on it or Honda Motor Company worded anywhere?? It dont. Just black with the H on it. i see lots of pics and other si's have the dohc labeled right on it. the h23a1 is dohc isnt it?? would the rare h23 vtec have vtec on it? i'm sure it would, right?

Maybe the all black engine with no dohc or honda motor co. on it IS the h23'tec? wishful thinking....

Re: engine

nope, h23 doesnt have the dohc label on it. Only the vtec motors have the label.

Re: engine

Yeah he knows its a DOHC, he just didnt know if it was spoze to say it somewhere.

H23 VTECs were most common in EDM and JDM accords i beleive.

just swap the rods and crank from the h23 and put them in the h22.

Re: engine

some people have a better time with a h23 vtec build up then others so if you want to do that then MAKE SURE you get it done right the first time...personally i would forget the h23 vtec and go with a h22...
