Its worth the ticket price.

Re: River kicks @$$

Have you watched the TV series? Fire Fly?

I bought the box set over a year ago, 14 episodes. If you watch that along with the movie, it will clear a lot of things up. It was on Fox back in 2003.

If it does well this weekend, they will make two more movies.

Please if you have not seen it, go. It is worth the cash

Re: River kicks @$$

It is basically a Sci-Fi, western with some of the best writing you will ever see or hear. It is a story about a crew of smugglers 500 years in the future. However this future is not as pure as it is portrayed in most other Sci-Fi. It is very dirty and thus you get the western feel. The guns are super futuristic. They do fly on a spaceship from planet to planet but that is mostly where the sci-fi ends. The crew of smugglers is Capt. Malcom Reynolds, Zoe (First Mate), Wash (Pilot), Jayne (Mr. Tough Guy), and Kaylee (Mechanic). There is an Ambassador (companion, high class prostitute) named Inara that rents a docking vessel from the main ship. Then they pick up some passengers Shepard Book (a man of God), Simon, an alliance trained doctor who found out what the alliance was doing to his sister (River) and had to kidnap her from a testing facility. You seem them chased by Alliance because they want River back, chased by Reavers cause they wanna eat the crew, you see them on their smuggling run and dealing with the smuggling bosses and then you see them trying to co-exist with each other but you also get to see them become very close to each other. It is full of comedy and action that will keep you wanting more.
