headers and cold air intake

Hi, i was wondering how much more power headers would give me? I found some for a 92 blazer on ebay for about $200, is it worth it? Also, how is a cold air intake different then what I have now? I understand that it doesnt draw the hot air in from the engine compartment, but as it is now it draws the air from the right side wheel well. How would it be different with a cold air intake off of ebay?

Re: headers and cold air intake

I honestly don't have much desire for a cold air intake . Most vehicles have that kind of system from the factory . They are designed to be quiet and don't look as good . My 89 blazer had the tube still running from the grill beside the radiator , but I wanted to hear her moan like a 4 barrel , but that wasn't good enough so I put a 4 barrel on her and a big chrome air filter . VVVVRRRRRMMMMM !!! Rob

And yes on the headers , they should give you more torque at low end and high end power . Rob

Unfortunatly when you throw headers on you still have the restriction of the stock exaust. If you're gonna throw headers on get one with a y pipe in the kit (edelbrock comes to mind) and get a bigger exaust system (not too big because you need back preassure)...By getting a proper exaust for the headers you will yield the maximum the headers have to offer.
