Civic Type R

Aight... i have $7,000 for a new car. I will be swapping in a B18C5 no matter if I get EG (92-95) or an EK (96-98/99?). Now, I am leaning slightly toward the EK and painting it Championship White w/ carbonfiber hood. As far as other exterior mods, i'll be purchasing a type r wing. Not sure which rims i want yet. But I will be decal-ing the car like a JDM Civic Type R. Now, if i do JDM the EK and do the Integra Type R swap, is it possible to boost the engine with a JRSC? (jackson racing supercharger) If so, how much power to the wheels should I be putting out? My figures are giving me about 249hp... (185 b18c5 and 40% increase w/ JRSC)... Also, as far as quarter mile times, what should I be looking forward to? I feel that I'm a pretty good racer, decent reaction time, etc. What are your guys thoughts? Is this a worthwhile project? I have about $11,000 to drop into body/engine mods/swaps/etc. Let me know what you guys thing. Thanks.
Jae Hoon

Can someone post a pic of the real Civic Type R for reference to show what my car should look like once it's completed. Thanks....

Sorry about the double-post... I didn't get any responses in the JDM forum...

If you are going to go with a supercharger, why not save yourself cash and just get the B18c? No one is going to give a rats patoot if you have a Type R motor or not, they will be more interested in the supercharger

dont waste your money on the b18c5. no one cares. slap a sc on it and its worthless.save like 2500 and get the b18c1 or 4000 and get the b18b (great for turbo/sc).

the only way i would buy a c5 is if i won ther lottery. its not worth it.

oh, and you will look like a jackass with type r stickers on a coupe civic. the civic type r is a hatch.

and even a hatch with a b18c5 isnt really a civic type r..its just a hybrid.
you want the b16b. people will appreciate that more than the b18c5.

first of all, it would be a hatch... second, if I were to go with the b18c1 and the supercharger, what kind of times would I be able to expect? This is the real question I'm asking or care about. 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc.
Also, if I were to go with the b16b, again the same question applies... times?

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

ok... i've decided on the b16b... now, again i am asking the same original question... WHAT 1/4 mi times and 0-60 times should i be able to expect? also, just for comparison, what would a jrsc do to those times? I would really appreciate it if someone would give me some kind of answer... I appreciate all the feedback and opinions regarding the different engines, but I am looking for specific info... Thanks

your original question is pretty vague. a lot depends on what your 1/4 mile times will be. tires, weight reduction/distribution, conditions, and how well of a driver you are. being a "decent" driver, and a "great" driver could mean two totally different things...the difference between the two could be a matter of seconds.

well, both engines, in their respective cars, run between 14-15. normally high 14s.

0-60 around 6sec.

jrsc will do numbers of things, depending on engine work, how much it is set to give you.

GET YOUR OWN DAMN INFO KID! DO SOME RESEARCH!
