'89 dakota bogging down

I have no idea what is going on with my truck. It will be running fine and then it will start to bog down when the throttle is past halfway. I had to limp it home today at 35 mph today from work. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on. I checked the cat. conv. and that wasnt the problem, nor the fuel filter. could a fuel pump act up like that? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
