1988 izuzu rodeo / 3.2 dohc

i'm in a bad spot, The guy that started taking apart my 98 rodeo has dissapeared somewhere, and left me with a huge mess. He had the heads off and the cams out. now i'm stuckwith the task of trying to line up the cam marks with the drive gear marks , and the crank marks. anyone have any ideas how to put this back together and get it running right? i have to be close to haveing it all aligned but something must be off a little bit. Any ideas? Thanks Mark
