1996 A4 chip

I own a 1996 A4 2.8 Quattro and was wondering where I could purchase a performance chip for it. Also, what do you guys think of LLTek? Im thinking about purchasing an exhaust and intake from them. thanks.

I'm also looking at some MotoDyne products. I heard that no one made a cold air intake for my car, but MotoDyne has one. They also have headers, bored throttle body, and a porter intake manifold that I was thinking about getting. Tell me what you think of these products.

Re: 1996 A4 chip

well the truth is that ever one makes a intake for the audi how ever it is only a cone that they stick on. the only diffence between a cone and motodyne is motodyne i thnk has a massive heat shield around it i foudn that a cone adds no noticple prformnce just a nice sound and if you jsut stick on a cone it will acutally get hotter air which may make it when the engine is hot run worse but the heat shield should sove that. as for every thing else it should add powere but i belive since moto dyne is the only company that specialises in the 12v 2.8 for the audi they ask for a lot of money for thier stuff

ive looked into motodyne quite a bit and from the looks of it they seem to have a lot of stuff for the 12 valve engine. however, if you head over to the audi world forums and do a search for motodyne you might think twice about buying from them. they dont have a very good reputation of good products or getting the product to the customer after payment. i guess theyve screwed quite a few people. i heard that the supercharger they make for the 12 valve doesnt even fit into the A4 engine bay with the hood closed. i havent ever read anything from people that have bought things from them, only stories of other people. but even if they are just rumors, rumors have to start somewhere. i talked to the owner on the phone once about the supercharger, hes seemed like a nice guy but you never know. he was actually the one that told me that the audi world guys bash him a lot, which i find interesting. so im just warning you to be careful, it could be unwarranted, but i dont want to be the one to test the waters and get screwed as well. and just to throw my opinion about modding your 12 valve, save your money. i own a 12 valve and have looked into modding my car, but ive found that the performance upgrades offer very little compared to the price you pay, and the 12 valve engine just doesnt seem to have a lot of potential to it. if you can say screw the price, ill pay whatever it takes, then id say sell the car and buy a 1.8T or a S4 and spend the cash on modding one of those if you have that kind of cash (with both 2.8 V6 engines i say that anything short of a supercharger is pointless but those run 5 grand). youd be dishing out money on something that only gives you a slight return, save it up and get something that has a MUCH greater potential for greater power. the 12 valve is a good engine, but dont mistake it for a performance beast. thats just how i feel as a 12 valve owner.

Re: 1996 A4 chip

From what I've seen those rumors seem to be starting from people who admit to never dealing with them yet seem suspiciously eager to "warn" everyone that they apparently rip people off yet no one ever confronts them about it. Also the fact that after all this they are still in business and it was pointed out that they have a good record with the BBB seems to defy their logic so people just want to ignore it by crying "fraud" over and over without anything substantial to support their claim. I've never dealt with them either but I have followed a lot of the controversy out of curiosity.
