Re: radiator fan?

As far as I know the fan should only run when the key is in the run position. You probably got some water in the relay and it's malfunctioning or the temp sensor got messed up. GL

There should be a sticker on the radiator that says "radiator fan comes on automatically" Or something to that affect.

It probably runs just after you turn off the car and runs for a couple of minutes.

It is suppose to.

Re: radiator fan?

Acually the fans will stay on after you turn off the key if your car is over heating, But since you washed your engine bay you probably got the connector wet and its stays on after the car is shut off any way, this happend on my bro's accord after he washed the motor.

How long does the fan stay on?

Anyway, disconnect the fan connectors (two of them) and clean them out. Make sure the o-rings are good. Coat the o-rings with a little oil, then reconnect. Disconnect the fan relay and clean out as well. Pack it with electrical grease then reconnect. If the problem was caused from washing your car, that will fix it.

Re: radiator fan?

anyone ever look at a cooling fan circuit diagram?? bet not for those of u that say it is supposed to stay on after the car is turned off. it's control is only hot in run, not hot at all times. so to answer u'r question, no it isn't supposed to stay on after u turn off the car. yes u must have gotten sumthin wet during the wash, and possibly in time it'll be back to normal.
