Re: 98 Blazer LT Speakers in dash???

I believe that they are 3.5". I looked them up when I was changing out all my speakers, but that's been a long time ago. Crutchfield.com should list them.

That's what I thought they were but I swear crutchfield listed them at one point and never did again. I hope I can find Polk Audio 3.5's that can handle the power I want to put at them with a 2 channel. haha 3, 2 channel amps! That might look funny!

hmmm weird. Polk Audio does not make 3.5's ;( I was thinking, maybe I could just disconnect them all together? I mean I don't think i need them with what I have now???

Re: 98 Blazer LT Speakers in dash???

My '96 can take either a 3.5" or 4x6. I put in the 4x6s.

Take the grille cover off and check the size of the speaker opening.

Yeah, a bit. I suggest that if you do put dash speakers in, do it right the first time.

I was thinking of taking a bat to my windshield, calling the glass place, while the glass is off take the 15 minutes replace them, slip the guy $20 and then put the new windshield on and I will be all set! I am going right to hell!

Re: 98 Blazer LT Speakers in dash???

I thought about that too, but for a different reason.
My windshield could use a good batting. I should park near Fenway this weekend and wait for Ortiz or Manny to knock one over the monster.

I would not eliminate them, for proper stereo imaging they should remain. They are not all that tough to get out, just have a little patience with a torqx head or you can get a "snake" attachment for your drill at home depot and you can have them out and new ones in about a 1/2 hr.

A lot of the trucks didn't come with dash speakers unless you had the bose system. Just thought I'd let people know.

Hmmmm.... good to know. I do have what looks like speaker grills and I am sure there are speakers in there but I am just too damn lazy and without hte proper tools to do it myself. I will get my cousin drunk and have him do it. He works for the roadshop at circuit city and really does a bang up job! He is not a hack like most.
