boost

So I have been having this on going problem with my boost. My car has been fine for a while and the first few months I owned it it drove great. But a few weeks ago I started experiencing problems with my boost. When I drive the boost seems to be pretty strong until about ten PSI at which point the car hesitates and seems to misfire or something. It usually does that for a second or more and then the boost guage needle just jumps to fifteen psi with really no boost. Now. The first thing I though was the plugs, So I took out the plugs and replaced them with some good iridium NGK's, gapped and everything and it does the same thing. The wires look good and I checked to see if I have any kinda boost leak. My vac is steady at 17-18 at idle and about 23 or so when I let off the gas. I'm kinda starting to get real frustrated with it because I want to install this new turbo and some other supporting mods. So I was thinking maybe it's my bov since it vents to the atmosphere and everyone says that that will make your car run funny, even though my ran fine with it on for a while. So I put my stock bov back on and turned the boost down to about 12 because I know they leak and I drove around and I couldn't really figure out if it was the same or not. And I won't be able to until I get on the freeway or away from my neighborhood because of the college traffic. But we shall see. In the mean time does anyone have any idea waht this might be withstanding it's not my bov?

Re: boost

my best guess: fuel cut. Does it only happen in the upper rpms, or any time that you hit 10 psi?

Re: boost

Soooo I took it out and drove it.

I just have to say wow.

I forgot the car could go that fast. I was so used to it being like it was I didn't remember what boost was.

It was deeeeeffinately that bov. I guess I will just keep the stock one on and run low boost until I can get an GReddy one.
