Post should I?

Sorry in advance for the length of this post. Alright, I'm young and just starting to really get into cars big time. I am currently working on a limited budget but have the time to take on a new project. I currently own a Supra and a Chevelle that I'm fixing up and as of right now both are driveable. I am looking for a used car that I can strip down to just the basics, preferably one with at least a stock engine and transmission so I can at least run it while I'm doing the rest of the work. I want to eventually modify it for street racing like my Supra and I've had my heart set on an RX-7 because that has always been one of my favorite cars. Right now, I have a chance to get a 1990 RX-7 in good condition for about $4000. The only problem is that in my current financial situation I would have to have someone co-sign a loan for the car with me. This is through a dealer. I've searched autotrader and there is really nothing else in my area so I'm trying to decide whether to buy it or hold off. Any advice? Or does anyone know of an RX-7 with a good frame with no rust that I can get really cheap in the Western NY (Rochester, Buffalo, Hornell, Wellsville, Alfred) or PA (Bradford, Coudersport, Shinglehouse) area? Since I'm going to rip out the whole interior and nearly all of the stock parts anyway, I don't want to spend that much on one. As long as I find one that runs so I can drive it back and forth between my garage and my friend's place for awhile until I get it stripped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry about the length of the post.

Peace

Re: should I?

how far built is your chevelle? if u still have a lot of work to do on it, i would just work on that and not get a 7. i own a 7, but i would love to have a muscle car.
