I have searched the forum and received some help, and now I am needing more. I have a '92 Blazer with unknown history. I have recently replaced the blower motor and only have 1 speed. I have found in the past that the A/C is part of the defrost system with this vehicle. However I can not find that thread now to help me understand this problem. Can someone tell me if the speed of the blower and A/C is connected, also I had read about jumpering a switch on the A/C to check it but don't know where this is. This is a 4.3 with power everything, so any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks, George748 |

Re: blower m otor
I take it you only have the high speed right?

Re: blower m otor
ok, this has nothing to do with defrost of the AC.
What you might need to do is test the fan switch in the dash.

Also, when you have the switch inside the cab set to "Defrost" the Air Conditioning Compressor will cycle on and off. This is GM's way of keeping the oil in the compressor circulated through the system in the winter time to keep your o-rings and seals lubricated, otherwise they'd dry out and all the freon would leak out. |
