Question techno

ok so me and my friend recently got really into techno cuz you can do pretty much anything you want with an existing song and just make it yours by mixing in your own interpretations. my question is...are there any computer programs (downloadable or buy thru store) that i can get that'd let me break apart songs, add effects, essentially making my own techno remixes. try not to think im just a little kid tryin to have some fun but ive been meaning to do something music related for a while so does anyone have any suggestions on where i would look for any make-your-own techno programs?

Check out Reason. There's a ton of programs out there that can do what you want, but that's probably as good a place to start as any.
