radiator grill

I have a 2002 chevy express with painted bumpers (SILVER IN COLOR) and the front grill is gray in color. Are these grills painted or are they solid gray all the way through? Thanks in advance Jack T.

Most are Gray plastic all of the way.
Also a lot of cheap aftermarket grills out there.

To find out for sure scrape someplace on back side.

Re: radiator grill

Thanks MT. It is solid through. It was chalky white around headlight and I thought it was painted. I was going to repaint if it was. Must be sunlight / age doing it. I think I will just leave it alone. I bought this van new and it has 36,000 miles on it. It looks BFN. I think my grandson will end up with Van? Thanks again for good tip. Jack T.

You are welcome.
I have a 3500 express van here with the grill out .
It does have a light coat of gray paint on it but gray plastic under that.
It also has some white around head and parking light where the light gray paint has worn off.

You might ask a body shop about a repaint job on it.

Good Luck

Re: radiator grill

Ya I thought it was just faded plastic because of sun after talking with you. But your right it does have a lighter color silver paint on grill. I called the dealer before asking the forum about it and they did not have any info of what color it could be. So when you said it might be solid right through I thought the same as you. I was reading online of how to paint plastic grills and there is a lot to it. If you want to do it right of coarse. I think a new one is almost three bills so I won't be going there. Like my neighbor always tell me is its only a truck. Thanks for the info MT. See ya Jack
