Re: nelson tune

Try a search for Nelson and you will see so much information that we have tried to tell others it is hard to keep saying it again...

Simply put, amazing tune that will change how your truck acts and drives whether it be for performance or MPG you will be happy.

Re: nelson tune

Chrisb490,
Please size the picture down a little, makes the posts to wide for the screen Monster picture is nice just a little big.

My '01 5.3L, 3.42 rear, Nelson Tuned went from 17 Hwy to 18.5 Hwy and 14 city to 16 city even with me messing around with the pedal on the street more. My dad got a tank or 2 of 20 mpg and still noticed the extra power. I went to SA to get the tune so I bet I got that much more of a custom as it took over an hour to complete the driving tune. Well worth the time to know what was done and why.

Re: nelson tune

That is pretty good, the tune will get you 2 - 3 mpg and the electric fan set up can get you 1/2 - 1 mpg. Those are proven numbers, some get better depending on how you drive. Get the 93 "Hot Tune" and that is out but you get around 1 sec on the 1/4 mile for a 5.3L, now wait for my VHO to get the massage and I wil tell you more.......

My best time with the 87-89 mpg tune in a stepside '01 LT 2wd 5.3L 3.42 geared open rear was 1/8 ET =10.59, 1/8 mph = 67.42, and the 14 ET = 16.34, 1/4 mph = 85.93.

Sounds like you got something good to start with.
