Who knows a bunch about ecotec engines?
Who's make them? Its werid because they seem to be in all kinds of cars. What country are they made / designed.
Also... I want to know how good / reliable they are. The new 2.4L sounds like it will be a big upgrade. Hopefully in a few years they will be able to compare to most Toyota and Honda engines. Who knows... Maybe someday they will even best the JP engines ;D |

Re: Who knows a bunch about ecotec engines?
Made by GM, used in chevy, pontiac, saturn, and possably a few other things. They are good motors for the most part, never really seen any common repetative problems out of them.

Re: Who knows a bunch about ecotec engines?
the Ecotec family is also used by Opel and Vauxhall
The ones in American branded cars are built in the US, but the design was a "World design" with input from American, German, and Australian engineers. GMPP already has a full line of high performance aftermarket internals and there is nearly a full line of performance parts for it.
