1997 lumina maf

my girlfriends 1997 lumina has bout 161,000 everything is in prestine shape for this many miles. the check engine light started comig on for about 4 days i have a firend who works autozone so he hooked up diag code said low voltage maf. so while at autozone i pulled it out and put in three different ones still would not fix problem cleared codes pulled battery off did the whole nine yards. when it first started to hesitate i cleaned the maf with appropriate spray and seemed to fix issue for about 2 days. if i have replaced the maf with three different ones and am still getting the check engine light what could possible by my next step. in not totally retarded ive been playing with cars for awhile but this one is knockin me right back to basics time. any help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you may have a frayed/cut/corroded wire that supplies the reference voltage from the PCM to the MAF. You need to check voltage at the MAF and see what you're getting.

thanx for the suggestion i think the manual is her car so i will check it out tonight, will the manual tell me what the voltage should be? there are also i believe three wires on the connector any idea which ones i need to check??? appreciate it either way.
