1/12 `67 Corvette 427 in progress....like deja vu, all over again
Yep, it`s yet another 1/12 Corvette. This one I decided to go with a green/white color combination. I was a little more conservative with this one, and only went with about 7-8 coats of clear. With my other ones, so many coats of clear kept the hood from closing.
I did one thing completely different on this one. I decided to mask and paint the stinger stripe! It was a *major* pain, but worth it. This is all in an effort to get P-Man to finish his 1/12 Camaro. Ohhhhh, and you may see a couple more of these from me eventually! |

I masked with both masking tape and bare metal foil. I`m not sure what kind of masking tape I used, but I used the clear-coat trick method before painting the stripe, which is why the lines are so clean. |

Looks great and I like the shine. What are you going to do with all those corvettes? Make one of each in the factory colors?!!

Sorry. I`ve actually already built 2 of them, and ruined the other one. So I only have one to build after the green one, which will probably be either white or yellow. There are 4 or so on Ebay right now, and it seems there is always atleast 1 or 2 on there at a given time. I am actually hoping to get another one myself, but not for a while yet. Just a quick update.... I started rubbing it out this morning. I wet sanded, went over with scratch-X several times, followed by several applications of tamiya "fine" compound, and finished with 4 applications of tamiya "finish" compound. I want the paint on this one to be perfect. Painting the stripe made a *huge* difference over using the decal, and looks 100% better. I`ll try to post pics as soon as I can. |
