Seat Question...
Im completely re-doing the inside of my 74 Espirit and my front seats are completely shot and i would like to beable to recline.. so i was wondering what other people have used as alternatives to the original seats.. im not worried about keeping everything original but at the same time i want it to look good.. if possible i would like to keep the cost around 3-400.. the only seats i can really find when i search around are racing seats and im considering them but would rather have some leather or nice cloth bucket seats.. and im going for all black...
any help would be extremely helpful... thanks.. Brad |

A friend of mine had a 87 or 88 Grand Am, and one day I noticed that the seats matched my '79 TA's dash, carpet and door panels better than my own seats. The title on the car was such that it could never be re-registered (Junk title) so I told him if he ever got rid of the car, I wanted the seats. Well, I got them about a year later - in perfect condition. There are two problems with fitting them. I will need to make a mounting adapter, since the bolt pattern is different and they are from a four door so they don't fold forward. But since the TA very seldom has passengers, it should not be a problem, especially since the seats can be moved forward quite a ways on the tracks provided. The only check I have to make is what the distance from the new seat to the headliner will be (headroom) - since I only have about 1" clearance now.
