Talking what i like about the scene

wassup
i love the cali azn scene, its freakin fun, i love to go out at midnights on friday nights and find racers, fine ass asian sluts chilling with their slow ass bf's, and check out their cars, and girls, i love to race and then run from the cops when they come, but then, its not fun if they catch us, its ironic actually, so yeah , thats what i like about it ....U?

there is a bad side to the scene also ,

i think the cali azn scene is weak also because we are tryin to race with hondas and stuff and think we are really fast, when white people are the fastest, even though i dislike them, we cant compete with nascars and indy cars, i think we should give up and, fawk it, no more racing for me, i suck at it

What eva!

What ever you do the 'scene' isn't going to die. It's actually just starting, so we're in a pretty neat time right now... more cars are coming, hotter, faster, better... more nicer mods and upgrades.

And thats the best part, we tweak our imports to kick the domestics v6 & v8's butt... of course it just cost tons of money... and people wonder why put $10-$20K on a civic if you can get a better car for that much? Well, its a hobby, it's a love of your life, it's a lifestyle... we put our hearts and soul into this scene and into our cars so it's not the same... it's just better.

Gotta love that living!

Ciao

Scene?

Hmmm, i live in Newfoundland Canada, so we haven't got much in teh way of a "Scene"(this is one of the most imbred places north of carolina. i think the immigrant population is something like 5%, 10% at most. So it's mostly just hicks in cavaliers, neons and new mustangs who think if something's japanese it has a 1.0 litre, 80Hp Gas/Electric engine and can't beat anyhting...oh god i hate the prius.)

As for what do i like adn not like? well i love imports, and i hate drag racing(hence the signature), if you can even call it racing. There is no skill required to hold the wheel straight and press the gas, yes shifting can take a little while to prefect, but thats it.

Yup

Yup, no skill. If both people dragging have equal shifting skills then there is nothing that determines who will win besides who's car is faster. When you get to the points of using NOS it's gets much more intense, but it's still essentially the same thing. Using NOS doesn't so much require anymore skill(besides knowing when to use it) it jsut takes more balls.

While that may be your opinion, it is an innacurate assumption. I would like to see you do some Top Fuel Drag racing or not even, try some pro stock. It is more challenging than just straight driving and getting the timing just right.

yes, drag racing may not require more skill than a road race, but it can be challenging to perfect launches and, like you said before, shifting. Have you ever tried to launch a 400+ hp car? its not just a matter of smashing the pedal to the floor. You are right about the point that usually, whoever has the faster car wins. This is the purpose of drag racing, though, to see who has the faster car, not who is the better driver...

Hakka, i'll admit, you have some good points. Touche
But DVS, i'm sorry, i don't consider Drag cars cars. Yes they have engines, yes they have wheels, but they aren't cars. Sure they can go fast as hell, but anything that has only something like 10 degrees worth of turning freedom then it's not a car.

I'll repost what you said again:

Now here you are talking about skill and racing. Not if it's a car or not. You said that you don't call drag racing, racing. I said to you that I beg to differ unless you can claim that you've done it and succeeded in it. Plus that you have experience. What you talk about that WRC is the only real racing in your sig, that would just be another type of racing and an opinion that you alone have. Therefore, to say one thing is racing and the other is not, is not a fact. So I am just correcting one thing that you said.

I like WRC, however, nothing like that ever get's shown around where I live. So while yes I watch drag racing, I do some drag racing, I consider any form of automotive competition, "Racing". That is what I was talking about.

true, true :)

True, I must admit, your a much more civilized and intelligent person then most of teh people i've talked to on the net. Also one of the reasons i don't like drag racing is that it doesn't last long enough, it's fun until you start to get near a corner, but then it just seems like a such a waste to slow down instead of taking the turn at the highest speed possible
