98 LT 4WD Vibration in Floor all the time

Slight Vibration when ever the car is running.
Vibrates in nuetrual. park , drive and reverse.

Kind of feels as if exasht may not be tight enough? Maybe motor Mounts?
Think that I had hear that they made some sort of special colar for where the Exausht comes out of the engnine due to excessive noise on this model.

Anyone else have this.

Remember it happens even when on and parked not a drivablity issue.

Have you done a tuneup? Your engine could be missing.

Other than that, check your motor and tranny mounts.

Well here is the thing, it has 122K Miles on it, but... at 92K the Head Gasket Shit the bed, didnt realize that was why my antifreeze slowing being used up, long story short GM paid to rebuild the whole top half of the engine. Everything on the top of the engine was redone or replaced. So, I gueese when they put it back together they would have had to have done the equivlant of a tune up. Had the Fuel Filter done I know at 60K.

What exactly on this car do they need to tune up> ?

Re: 98 LT 4WD Vibration in Floor all the time

What you need to tuneup is:

Fuel filter
Spark plugs AC Delco Platinum only
Cap & Rotor
Air Filter
PCV Valve
Transission flush and refill and a new filter
Differential fluid and transfer case fluid change

You need to stop assuming everything is ok with the tune. Something has to be causing the shaking and I can bet in part it is due to it needing a tuneup and possibly your motor or tranny mounts being shot.

Your fuel filter alone should be changed every 30k.

Can you tell me where to fine the fuel filter on the 98 and if it is as simple as changeing the oil, I assume that there are cut off vavles between the filter and gas tank, as well as filter and engine.

Re: 98 LT 4WD Vibration in Floor all the time

No cut off valves. Take the filter off, have some catch rags handy to sop up the slow escape of gas from the lines as they drain. NO SMOKING! I am a smoker and when it's time to take a break, I make sure to pull off the work shirt, gloves and light up a good 20 paces upwind from the rig when working on it. I've seen car batteries explode right under the hand some fool was holding a lit cigarette in when he went to go get a look at something under the hood. *POP* <<sizzle>> "Someone call 911!" Entire left side of the man's face, arm, torso and leg is still gnarled and scarred. Be especially careful around flammables, have a buddy watching your back with a fire extinguisher when dealing with fuel.
