Slave cylinder
I have a 93 ranger with a 4.0L V6 manual tran. Does anyone know where the slave cylinder is located or why I have trouble putting it in to gear.

Re: Slave cylinder
The slave cylinder is located between the tranny and engineblock. Its what disengages the clutch so you can shift gears. Rangers are prone to slave cylinder failure. About 2 days after i got my truck, mine went out but the car lot switched it out for a new one for free. It takes alot of work to switch them out because you have to take the tranny out to get to it. I recommend you call around some transmission places and get some quotes.
