Tire Size + Suspension.
if i try to make my car handle better then the corvette race car and i go with the IRS (Indipendet Rear Suspension).
but if i go with a really big tire would it hinder my connering performance? like right now i want 10.5s all the way around but if i make enough power and maybe wanna go a lil wider out back like 11s or 12s would that hurt my connering performance? the bigger tires will help in straight like performance but would it help or hurt trought turns? i donno how it would hurt as there is more area for grip but i donno, thats why i made this thread... i donno if i will go wider then 10.5 anyway im just wondering, if i do make it to a drag strip i might just stick bigger tires under it while at the strip.

Re: Tire Size + Suspension.
I wouldnt think so. It would only help stick you to the ground. Guy I know is build a porsche race car and he put 335's on the rear wheels. Those are some big friggin tires lemme tell you. And that thing handles extremely well. I hope he lets me drive it!!!
But I also cant see different sizes front and back as practical for a daily driver. Just my opinion though.

Re: Tire Size + Suspension.
i think that anything bigger than 10.5s require modification

Too big of a tire in the rear requires body modification and fabrication work. One of my friends had a 295 on his 85 iroc, they barely fit and we had to pound the rear fenders a little so they wouldn't rub over bumps. It stuck to the road quite nicely and cornered fairly well considering he had the 295's on the rear and a 145 on the front, and it was a daily driver. No alignment problems, and it actually looked good. I'll look see if I have a pic of it around anywhere.

Re: Tire Size + Suspension.
I believe the biggest in the back is 11 and front 10.5. Youll handle better and itll look frekin awesome. Good luck.

Re: Tire Size + Suspension.
does anyone happen to have a pic of the under side of a car with 10.5 wide tires out back?
a 4th gen if possible.

Re: Tire Size + Suspension.
I would think that the wider the tire the better the cornering would be. The only thing that would suck is in rain you would hydroplain real easy. So get summer and winter wheels and tires.
