realize that alot of those trucks are bought for commercial and fleet purposes for which nothing else is an adequate substitute.

Also, even with the increase in prices, adjusted for inflation, gas prices aren't anywhere NEAR as high as they've been even in the last 10 years.

If you don't understand the concept of inflation, pick up a text book.

I took macroeconomics last semester...inflation is at its slowest rate since the end of the Reagan administration, when he was running a budget deficit well into 9 figures in the mid 80's...remember however, that just a couple of years ago premium gas was about $2 a gallon...now it's $3...a 33% increase in gas prices doesn't really coincide with the 7 or 8% inflation we've seen within the last two years.

that is interesting, maybe people have been planning ahead and getting raises? probably not. well maybe its kind of a delayed thing. like the difference wont happen immediatly.

Re: Bestsellers for the first half of 2005

yes, adjusted for inflation, gas prices are higher now than 2 or 3 year ago, but they're much lower than they were in the early-mid 90's

What do you mean? I'm lost, because I don't think there was a big inflation spike in the early 1990's.
