16 year old needs help
I am about to turn 16 and i have about $4500 to spend on a car including mods (if necessary), i have been looking at many cars and i have a few in mind but it is really hard for me to choose which one i should get...so far i've narrowed it down to these cars...
Nissan 240sx s13 ($2000 - $3500) Nissam Maxima 3rd or 4th Gen ( $2000 - $4000) Honda Civic SI anything between 88-95 ($1000 -$2500) Mazda MX-6 2nd Gen or 1st Gen turbo ($2500 - $4000) Acura Integra 2nd or 3rd Gen ( $1500 - $3500) Toyota Celica GT-S 5th Gen (I think...) or 4th Gen all trac turbo ($2500 - $3500) Honda Prelude 4th Gen ( $3500 - $4500) Volkswagen Corrado ( $2500 - $4000) Volkswagen Jetta 2nd or 3rd Gen ( $1000 - $3500) Nissan 200sx (not the s12) ( $2500 - $3500) I'm more lenient towards the 240, mx-6 and Prelude...is there any other cars i should consider...why or why not?....I would also like to mod the car a bit so please tell me which car i should get along with what simple mods...please be specific... |

If I had the $$, I would consider a corrado for sure. I just love those things. They're pretty quick stock, too.
However, I agree with the guy above. I would get an older civic (like you said, 88-95'ish), and use the extra $$ on a swap. It'd be a huge learning experience for you, and you'd have a swapped honda, right when you turned 16, not too bad.

Re: 16 year old needs help
well i didnt plan my investmen very well now i only have about a grand to spend on a car, and insurance will be a real pain with a 240, so im down to an mk2 golf or jetta, a 89 and up maxima ( probably one with hi kms or in need of some reapairs) an altima (same idea). does anyone know some other cars that are visually apealing and cheap on insurance in my price range ?

Re: 16 year old needs help
Look for a 90-93ish Accord, hopefully the 2.2 pretty quick fo stock and you'll have plently left for intake and exaust as long as any repairs aren't to bad. 5 speed or walk away, you'll love your new japanese muscle
-dump that fucking clutch |

The Hondas will probably cost you about 1000$-2500$ of 1 way insurance per year....

here's my
so you could go with the 240 which i do happen to love, but to really do something mean with it u need to do a swap and put a JDM sr20det into it, and if you want to do it right its expensive. were talking $5000. well that too much. so what i'd do is find a 92-95 civic si, due to the fact it comes with a stock B16A2 motor. no swap needed! if u want to save a cpl bucks get the VX it has the V-Tech motor, but no bells and whistles like PW and PDL and shit like that. |
