where to find what year my bike is?
I just bought a YZ85 and I would like to know of a web site where I could punch my VIN in and see what year it is. I know it is an 85cc so that narrows it down a little. any help will do.

Is there a data tag on the headstock, behind the number plate? I don't know about Yammies but that is where it is on my 93 CR250. I'll ask my Yamaha friends and find something out.

Naw, I just thought the year would be printed on the tag, like it is on my bike. I'm told the last two digits of the year are in the VIN, not sure where though. If I find out I'll post it for sure.

there should be a black and white plate on the headstock that has the year in the upper right corner (and the build month stamped into the plate)
atleast thats where it is on my friends suzuki 80, my old honda 185, his kawi 250, and little honda trail 70.
