Angry replaced ignition lock now car wont start

over the weekend someone thought it would be fun to try to steal my car.........All they did was mess up the ignition lock...so i went out picked one up and installed it it works fine but now my car won't start...it fires up and quickly dies.......like it is out of gas....i know it wasn't out of gas but I added 5 gals to it and same issue....after it dies out....the security light comes on first time i have ever seen this light in my car.......anyone have any idea on how to get my car to start and stay on......

98 chevy blazer s-10 v6 automatic

Re: replaced ignition lock now car wont start

They probably ruined the ignition switch.

all they did was try to start the car with a screw driver and did not get it to turn....do you think they could have meesed the switch up.
