Re: sr20...

yes you might need the bellhousing off of another transmission, or just buy a fwd sr20det motorset and transmission and swap the whole thing in there

this is the 240sx forum though and we deal with the RWD stuff

Re: sr20...

you can fit anything into anything with the right amount of money.. but you're trying to fit a rwd engine in a fwd chassis => not an easy thing to do. if you really want a 2.0L turbo then get the sr20de out of a newer sentra and beef it up.. if you have a little more money, then put a vg30dett in. it'll fit and cause less headaches.

Re: sr20...

just buy a SR20DET jap spec motor. They make then for FWD in a couple applications. One is the run of the mill red top variety. The other is from a GTiR and runs a better turbo, top mount intercooler, individual throttle bodies, and proably some other cool shit I don't know about. Use one of their transmissions from that motor into your maxima. You might need custom axles. You will need custom motor mounts but that isn't TOO hard for FWD. the trickiest part is going to be putting the differential in the right spot so the axles are how they should be going into the knuckles. It could be done fairly easily probably.

Then you need to plumb up some fuel lines, wiring harness--i have no clue on that, cooling system, power steering, a/c, and a custom downpipe.

Re: sr20...

Or you could trade it for a Sentra SE-R and already have everything done for you...

...and then theres the fact that a sentra wouldnt suck.
