Injector flushing
I know this should be in one of the subforums, but i cant post there because it keeps saying im banned or not allowed.
My mom took her car in today for a tuneup and oil change at the nissan dealership (01' sentra) and when i saw the bill i was a little bit confused. For a while she has had her pedal sticking when you start to accelerate, its more of a stick and then you give it a little bit more pressure and it starts to go again (the pedal moving, not the RPM) It does this even when the car is off, so its not that the car is lagging in acceleration or bogging down. I looked and found that there was some slack where her throttle cable has stretched and figured that is why it sticks, and then goes because you press on the gas and then it catches tight and that is it. Now to my point. We took the car in and they said it had nothing to do with the throttle cable, they said there was a clogged injector? Why the hell would it do it when the car is off then? So they "flushed" the injectors and charged us 130$. I go out and look and everything looks untouched, no injectors removed (they still have dirt and no fingerprints on them) and the lines on the fuel rail look old and untouched also. What the hell do they do in an injector flush that would cost 130$, or is my mom just getting ripped off? Another thing that is pissing me off is that they charged her 35$ for an oil change, thats outrageous... Sorry if thats long, it only took a few minutes to type so it should be quick to read..Any thoughts would be appreciated.
