Yes. Well its the voltage regulator diodes inside of it. Just replace it.

Sure is the alternator. It's sending 7.5 amps back to the battery.

You can attempt to replace it but It may be more and a voltage reg is about half of the cost of a alt so I would just buy a new one or used.
