Adam won't go for a manual anything.
He admits to being a wuss. ![]() Although, Autos are great in day to day driving in traffic so I can't blame him.

Re: Transmission go bye bye
Matt's right, considering where I live now, a manny just isn't practical, although I should learn how to drive one, as if I ever visit a foreign country, most of the rental cars are standards....I neutral dropped ONCE about 4 years ago...but I also used to street race a lot, which mean powerbraking, brake-torquing, whatever you call it, and that's not good for a transmission at all.
Mileage was at 62k...if you go to maxima.org, a lot of 5th gen and 5.5 gen maximas had automatic transmission failiures, some earlier than mine, especially in the 5.5 gens. Maxima=great engine, shitty transmission.

Re: Transmission go bye bye
Sorry to hear that man. I've been carless for awhile, and I can feel for ya. Hope you get it back in running condition soon.

Re: Transmission go bye bye
Az has horrific traffic, and driving a standard all day is no biggie as long as it's a small/midsized car like yours. Do the manuel dood! You'll love it when your become effecient with it.
