clock stays illuminated, drains battery

95 Lumina APV, stock Delco cass/radio. After shutting the van off, the clock display remains illuminated and drains the battery. Doesn't matter if the radio is on or off. With the van shut off, I pulled fuses until I found the "acc" fuse would depower the clock and prevent battery discharge. Radio will not retain clock or radio stations with the "acc" fuse pulled but otherwise functions normally. Faulty radio?

I installed the same cass/radio from a 96 APV into my 95 but the radio doesn't work - just hums like electrical feedback and gets louder as volume is increased. Cassette works correctly. Except for button color, this radio appears identical to mine although model number on ID sticker is different.

Suggestions?

Hmmmnnn. I have the EXACT same problem with my 95-3.1 with stock delco radio/cassette. I have yet to find the cause although I suspect some component in the chime /radio circuit. Seems the radio light is very, very bright when switch and headlights are off, an really dims when I turn them on. I too unplugged the fuse and now do not have a radio that keeps its program or the chime to tell me if lights are left on , etc. I finally just decided to leave the fuse out, went and bought me an XM Radio Roady II (39.95 + $12.95/month)and now I don't worry about the short so much. ( left the fuse out and I'm still trying to locate the source of the short..I'll definitly let you know if I find it.. In meantime, buy you an XM (better anyway)
