The Xenon bulbs that are sold at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. are knock-off bulbs, they will burn out within a month. If you want a real HID kit, you will be spending around $300. http://www.xenondepot.com

Check on ebay I bought my for like $15 (low beam). But now high and low beam are for like $25 not bad, Regular Hyperwhite, It doesn't last as the regular OEM but I got with mine like 1 year 1/2 and it's still working...but if you have money to get HID...buy it for sure!...

Re: Blue Lights at night
I got some silverstar bulbs which look really awesome for $40. You can really tell the difference.

How can you say a $300 HID kit would be crappy? Do you have any proof to back up your statement?

No kidding, I wouldn't want ot spend that much either, but if you want it done right, you have to spend the money, you get what you pay for. And yes, as a matter of fact I do have proof. Read any of the forums at HIDplanet.com. A $300 kit is crappy because it does not come with an HID projector. The projectors in our cars are made for halogen bulbs. HID projectors have a sharp cut so that the light is usable and doesn't blind everyone in oncoming traffic, where as regular projectors will throw the light everywhere. I wouldn't have made the statement if I didn't know what I was talking about. |

Re: Blue Lights at night
Absotely, it's much more money and more complicated. There was a guy on this forum that gave a starting price of $795 for a complete retrofit with HID, and that was without brighter lights, angel eyes, and various other upgrades. And I'm not saying it won't work, it'll just look much more like an OEM HID light with the projector. The main reason why I'm looking into that is because it's less noticable to the police, and changing any lighting on your car isn't exactly legal. Normally I wouldn't spend the money either, but fortunately I happen to have a friend who is quite "financially stable" and is upgrading the lighting in his 05 M3 from the stock 4500K to 8000K, and giving me all the stuff that comes out.
